If your dietitian is not covered by your insurance plan, Eat and Thrive Now can provide you with a superbill. You may submit this to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Be sure to ask your insurance representative how out-of-network reimbursement works under your specific plan.

If your insurance company requests a diagnosis code (ICD-10), provide:

We aim to use this preventative counseling code when appropriate to help maximize the number of covered visits available to you.

Your insurance representative can tell you how many visits are covered per calendar year. Coverage varies widely—from zero visits to unlimited visits—depending on your plan and medical necessity.

If you have a deductible that has not yet been met, you may be required to pay for your nutrition counseling visit in full at the time of service. We will provide documentation you can submit to your insurance company so the payment can be applied toward your deductible.

Once your deductible is met, we can typically bill your insurance directly.

Dietitians are often considered specialists, which means your specialist copay may apply. This amount is usually listed on the front of your insurance card.

Because Eat and Thrive Now often bills visits as preventative counseling, copays are not always required. We wait for your insurance claim to be processed to determine whether a copay applies, then charge the card you have on file for that amount if necessary.

Many insurance plans cover telehealth nutrition counseling, but coverage and copays can vary. Please confirm telehealth benefits with your insurance provider prior to your visit.
